Open Records Notice
By Resolution of the City Council, adopted at its regular meeting on ______________, Felicia Trammel is designated as Open Records Officer and Amanda Burbage and Cami Hoopes are designated as Assistant Open Records Officers. All Open Records Act Requests shall be made in writing and served upon the Open Records Officer or a designated Assistant.
Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act (O.C.G.A. 51-18-70), the City of Zebulon policy for processing public records requests will be applied equally to all. You will receive a response detailing the estimated cost of your request within three (3) business days of the initial request if the request exceeds $25.00. This does not necessarily mean the document will be ready within three business days.
Pursuant to O.C.G.A 50-18-70 through 50-18-76, copies of records shall be charged $.10 per page. In addition, a reasonable charge may be collected for search, retrieval, and other direct administrative cost for complying with a request made under this Code section. The hourly charge shall not exceed the salary of the lowest paid full-time employee who, in the discretion of the Records Custodian, has the necessary skill and training to perform the request; provided, however that no charge shall be made for the first fifteen minutes.
City of Zebulon may have to redact or mark out sections of documents that contain privileged or confidential information protected by the Open Records Act. Examples of information that must be redacted include, but are not limited to: Social Security Numbers, mother’s maiden name, medical insurance information, appraisal information, and records from an ongoing criminal/regulatory investigation or prosecution.
